Experience
The most important element in determining the quality of music business understanding a Songwriter or Music Publisher has is the experience and artistry of the person.

Baylight Publishing's Founder and Director Mary Godfrey is an experienced and talented songwriter and music publisher. She has ample experience in professional recording studios as a writer and producer, as witnessed by her many releases. Mary entered into the music business arena before leaving Chicago where she was born and raised. While living there she worked for ASCAP, and also held the Vice-President Position for Midwest Woman In Music, an out-reach of the NARAS Chicago Chapter. Having radio ready product for sale and broadcasting, Mary signed on with ASCAP as a songwriter.

In 1992, Mary relocated to Gloucester, MA and shortly thereafter signed with ASCAP as a Music Publisher. Requested to mentor other local songwriters, Mary began coaching and speaking at several music conferences regarding music business and songwriting.

Baylight has officially released two Promotional Compilation CDs which offers a variety of genres from songwriters across America. We also have collections of material by subject matter. Baylight Publishing offices are now in Arizona, while licensing worldwide.
